What’s New at St. Margaret’s….

As the dust settles from the opening of the new school year, I would like to share with you some new initiatives this year at St. Margarets:

*Drop-Off and Pick-Up: We have implemented some new procedures for student drop-off and pick-up in an effort to tighten security. A letter was sent home with students detailing the procedures. Please feel free to contact me at school should you have any questions.

*Room Relocations: We have relocated some classrooms over the summer. The Art Room has been relocated adjacent to the Music Room (where the Science Lab was) to create a Fine Arts wing. The Science Lab has been moved upstairs across the hall from the Technology Lab; this will aid our transition to a STEM approach to learning. Our 2nd-grade classroom is now nestled in between 1st and 3rd-grade classrooms allowing for easier collaboration and sharing of ideas among teachers.

*First Friday Mass: In addition to celebrating holy days, we are instituting First Friday Mass. Unlike holy day masses where students participate in the liturgy, First Friday Mass is simply the school attending the regular morning liturgy on the first Friday of each month.

*Service Focus: Beginning with the 2019-20 school year, each year we will identify a schoolwide “service focus”. This year our focus is on “Hunger”, as a school we will focus our service learning efforts on feeding the hungry.

These are just a few of the new initiatives for the 2019-20n school year at St. Margaret’s.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 315-455-5791. As always, I thank you for the privilege of educating your child.
